Kids at First

Kids at First is a free breakfast and childcare program provided for Elementary children on late start Mondays.

• Kids at First opens at 7:00 a.m. in the lower level of First United Methodist Church, 1036 7th St., Nevada, IA.

• Parents may drop their child off directly in front of the church main entrance, but should wait until they see their child enter the building before driving off. Children new to the program may have their parents come in with them the first time.

• Breakfast is served from 7:30 until 8:30.

• Pre-registration is not required but is encouraged. See attached files for registration form.

• Indoor activities include books, games, puzzles, craft-making, coloring, drawing, and others, all in a supervised and safe environment. If weather permits we try to get outside for about 30 optional minutes of fresh air activities.

• At 9:00 we clean up, get our school bags, and some of our volunteers walk the group to Central Elementary.

• Our helpers are all volunteers from the local community and have completed background security checks for the safety of your child.
