Adult Classes
The Friends in Faith class meets in Room 2 in the lower level of the Education Wing. This group uses book studies or Bible Studies as their focus for adult education and shares leadership. Contact Steve Williams.
The Challengers class meets in room 10 in the upper level of the Education Wing. This group concentrates on short-term Bible based studies as their focus for adult education. Contact Jim Shelledy.
Making Sense of the Bible meets in the chapel in the upper level. The group is open to 7th graders to adults. Contact Pastor Mike.
ARC (Adult Retreat Center)
The ARC is located on the west end of the lower level of the education wing. This is for adults who prefer time for quiet reading, Bible study or visiting with other parents during the Sunday School hour. There are books available for use on Sunday mornings, or to borrow for longer periods of time. There are also books available to take home permanently, if you find one you really want to keep.

Bible Studies
Women's Bible Study
An on-going Bible study is available on Tuesday mornings at 6:30 a.m. Women of all ages are welcome. Contact: Kat Tichenor
Men's Bible Study
An on-going Bible study is available on Wednesday mornings at 6:15 a.m. Men of all ages are welcome. Contact: Jim Shelledy
Short-term Studies
Short-term studies are offered periodically throughout the year. Contact: Pastor Mike
Long-term Studies
No long-term studies are offered currently. If you have interest in a long-term study, such as Disciple Bible Study, contact Jim Shelledy.
Confirmation
Confirmation is a program for youth to learn more about the Bible, Christianity, the United Methodist Church and how we are to live as believers in Jesus Christ.

Local Church Scholarships
Two Scholarships Are Available from our Local Church
Graduating High School Senior who is a member of the church.
Undergraduate Scholarship for a member of the church and who is enrolled in an accredited college or technical school.
The application forms for both scholarships are attached below as pdf's. If you would like to have a fill in application please email the church at umchurch@fumcnevada.org, or copies are available in the Church Office. Completed forms must be turned in to the office by May 1.


Iowa United Methodist Foundation Scholarships
The Iowa United Methodist Foundation has scholarships available for the 2018-2019 academic year, as in past years, for both college and seminary students. This year, however, the application process has changed. “The Iowa United Methodist Foundation is excited to announce a new easy to use online only scholarship application process for the 2018-19 academic year. All applications and required documents are now paperless! Not only will students apply online, but all required documents such as essays, references, transcripts, and any other required documents will be gathered online as well.” No other format will be accepted.
